- The aquarium has two underwater tunnels which have a moving walkway were you will see many Sharks, different Fishes, Stingrays Octopus, Penguins and my favourite Sea Horses.
If you want priority access at the Barcelona Aquarium then skip the line and spend time enjoying the tanks which contain an amazing 450 species. Barcelona Aquarium has the claim to fame of being the largest Mediterranean aquarium in the world which is reason enough to come here when you are in town. The aquarium is a vast facility and when you visit you will get to wander through a variety of sections which are also the home to some 35 different tanks that contain 11,000 animals.
There is a stunning Oceanarium here and a shark tunnel which is 80 meters long and will let you get nose-to-nose with these majestic predators. Young children will also find a huge amount to enjoy and you can visit interactive touch tanks as well as Planeta Aqua which is a section of the aquarium dedicated to uncovering some of the secrets that lie beneath the ocean waves. This is the perfect spot for budding marine biologists and fun for all the family. As well as a Mediterranean section, you will also find some tropical tanks which tell the story of marine life in other parts of the world. In short, if it swims, you will probably find it at the Barcelona Aquarium.
Anyone who loves the ocean should not give this amazing attraction a miss and even though you won’t get wet, it is one of the best ways to learn more about aquatic life in Spain and the wider Mediterranean.
