La Sagrada Familia is also one of the most spectacular Roman Catholic cathedrals in the world and is known for having been designed by none other than Antoni Gaudi himself. Gaudi is known for his epic and outlandish designs and these made him one of the most well known architects in Spain when he was alive. The name Sagrada Familia means ‘Holy Family’ in the local Catalan language and you can see the gorgeous interior which is covered in carvings and symbolic design touches. The church is still unfinished but it is said that it will be completed in 2026 which will mark 100 year since Antoni Gaudi died.
